Kosovo becomes an associate member of NATO
31 May 2024
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly approved a recommendation that Kosovo's status be advanced from an observer to that of an associate member. With 17 votes pro, 1 against, and 14 abstentions, Kosovo has moved from an observer member to an associate member, and now shares the same status as Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the Banjska terrorist attack, NATO has continuously reinforced the KFOR, underlining the organisation's commitment to peacekeeping in the region. |
Welcome to The European Correspondent
Europe lacks true European media: in Germany alone, there are more media devoted exclusively to football than news outlets specialising on Europe. The established players mainly focus on Brussels and European institutions. The European Correspondent aims to change that. We cover the whole of Europe and write for a community of citizens who want to look beyond their own national borders. Without European journalism, there is no European civil society.
