The European Correspondent is looking for:
Assistant to the managing director (1-1.5 days/week)
About the role
As assistant to the managing director, you’ll work closely with the management team and support them in daily operations. You’ll be part of a Europe-wide team and help shape how we tell Europe's stories that matter.
What you'll be doing
Administrative and operational support
Support the managing director in managing day-to-day tasks.
Coordinate logistics for events, travel, and team gatherings.
Internal coordination and communication
Help document and track organisational policies and procedures.
Support community management: maintain team inbox and coordinate appropriate responses to inquiries from external and internal stakeholders
Support for organisational development
Help monitor workflows and identify recurring administrative or organisational needs.
Support the implementation of new internal processes and tools.
Maintain governance records and support the administration of the advisory board and creditors relationship.
What we're looking for
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a high attention to detail.
Discretion and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information.
Ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently.
A proactive mindset and problem-solving attitude.
Experience in a similar assistant, office coordinator, or operations support role.
Strong proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, Slack, project management tools like Notion).
You're naturally curious about what connects and divides people across Europe.
You have excellent English skills; French is a plus.
You have a collaborative mindset – we’re building something together.

You're a registered freelancer in a European Union country.
